If you happen to run a sports blog or website then you know it can be very difficult getting it off the ground. You might be inclined to want to give up after a few months of seeing less than happy numbers but you know that it is going to take time and patience. So, if you are interested in getting your site up and running and doubling the views you normally get, you should do yourself a favor and get started by transforming your site into a great sports destination.
You might want to start by focusing on one sport. It would be nice to focus on the other sports in your life but the fact is it’s hard enough just keeping up with one sport. If you want to get the most traffic to your site then you need to have an angle right off the bat. Maybe you do football, or hockey, or soccer. No matter what you want to do you just need to pick one thing and make that your focus. As your website grows and you start to make money off the website there is a good chance you can get a writer or two to help get your website into other sports, but for now pick one and stick with it.
The other thing is to have an angle. If people wanted scores and updates, there is a good chance they are going to the big boys for that. What does your website offer that other websites don’t? Maybe it’s a unique perspective on the sport? Maybe it’s a humorous look at sports. Either way it needs to be something that will keep people coming back for more. That will make the difference between a website everyone knows about and one no one knows about.
