Internet providers vary state to state but they all do the same thing, it just depends on what you’re looking for. Internet providers include time Warner cable, NetZero, people pc just to name a few. Some states provide different internet options but types of internet are the same everywhere, there dial-up, broadband, and wireless internet and satellite internet as well. Dial up internet is that you have to have a phone line hooked up to your computer and the service provider provides you with a phone number to dial out on. Dial up was the first to be invented when the internet was first started. Some dial up provider would be NetZero, EarthLink and people pc. Dial up would be great for someone that cannot afford anything expensive or doesn’t use the internet very often. Broadband internet is usually called “high speed” because it much faster than dial up. Broadband internet is cable based unlike dial up which is not. Broadband can also be called DSL, DSL stands for digital subscriber line, and broadband didn’t get on to the market until 1996. Wireless internet is the newest of internet providers, it’s also known as WIFI to some. With wireless internet you would need a laptop or mobile computer, a wireless adapter or usb port to connect and you would also need a wireless internet access plan like DSL. Also with wireless you can got to local hot spots that offer free wireless internet, like Mc Donald or Dunkin Donuts. Satellite internet is for people who live in remote areas that don’t offer any kind of internet. Satellite internet means that you might pay more but that the price you pay for living in the sticks. Some providers of Satellite internet would be DIRECTV satellite, HughesNet, and Wild blue satellite.
