The internet has a lot to offer a students, it can be helpful in finding topics of information. High school students can look at information about a school projects, get help with things there are having trouble on, and even look at colleges for the future. In recent years, high schools started giving out laptops to make assignments easier and faster, to do research easier, and to store the information they found. The internet has made information readily available in a quick and easy fashion. About 16 million high school student actually use their laptops for school and nothing else, it about 68% of students and there between the ages of 12 and 17. Some parents have questioned the importance and effectiveness for the student to have internet. The internet can help a student improve their writing skills, math skills and anything else they might be struggling in at the time. The internet can also explain things that the teacher didn’t explain in the classroom. So let’s say that during the school week might give you a better you have a test in English and you still uncertain about some stuff on the test, looking it up on the internet might give you an advantage to do better on that test, you could even learn more than you expected. Even though the internet can be very useful to a student to gain knowledge, the internet could also have negative effects on the students schooling. Student have been known to use the internet for plagiarism, because the student gets lazy and doesn’t want to do their work , they get on the internet find the information they need and copy it, not thinking that they could get in trouble. Plagiarism is a serious offense, and the student could be penalized. Using the internet should be fun and knowledgeable, not a place to get yourself into trouble for being lazy.
